Yes, it is plastic, but I think the price is really good to save for the conduct of a button. I have no problem with the line as one of the other reviewers have experienced. I bought this because it was much smaller than other types of devices Stor-a-key. Its small enough that you can easily hide, but once again it is as if someone had actually wanted them in plastic, you probably could get, given enough time and a big hammer.
